7L65 TRANSMISSION LINE REBUILD PROJECT
PROJECT OVERVIEW
The approved 7L65 Line Rebuild Project (the Project) is located between Vegreville 709S substation, south of the Town of Vegreville, and Vermilion 710S substation, in the Town of Vermilion. The Project will rebuild the existing 7L65 transmission line to allow the facility to operate at its full capacity.
The Project will replace all, or rebuild in place, portions of the existing 7L65 transmission line, with a new single circuit 144-kilovolt transmission line which is approximately 93 km in length. The existing 7L65 transmission line will be removed once the rebuild line is operating.
Construction of this Project is planned to occur in three phases, separated into regional sections of the line. As a phase is constructed, the corresponding end-of-life section is salvaged.
Throughout the 7L65 rebuild process, stakeholders in the area may see ATCO's Distribution division completing the relocation of distribution facilities that conflict with the project's approved route.
