KIWENTINOHK OPAL TRANSMISSION PROJECT
PROJECT OVERVIEW
The approved Kiwetinohk Opal Transmission Project (the Project) is located in Fox Creek, Alberta. The Project will connect a customer’s new generation facility to the electrical grid.
The Project will consist of constructing approximately two kilometres (km) of single-circuit 144 kilovolt (kV) transmission line (to be called 7LA199) which will connect the customer’s substation to the existing 240 kV transmission line 7L199 in a T-tap configuration.
The Project also requires modifications to the existing 144 kV transmission line 7L199 to accommodate the connection of proposed transmission line 7L199. Approximately 500 meters of the line will be relocated, and seven km will be upgraded in the existing alignment.
