    Background:

The isolated community of Chipewyan Lake was supplied power by the Chipewyan Lake Power Plant (the Plant). The Chipewyan Lake Interconnection Project connected Chipewyan Lake to Alberta’s electricity system and was completed in February 2021. As a result of the interconnection, the existing Plant has been decommissioned and dismantled. The equipment will be sold following the Alberta Utilities Commission Sale Process.
